Write to the right people with targeted keywords. Your site content won’t reach the right people if you’re not targeting the right terms. In simple words, terms that your target audience is actively looking for on Google. It’s why you need to understand these terms. Your buyers, who they are, what problems do they have and why are they looking for these terms. You have to research on the keywords that they’re searching on Google. My favorite non-paid tool is Google Keyword Planner, for looking up accurate keyword data.
Focus on readability, SEO content that shoots to the top of SERPs is incredibly readable. When the end user reaches your page, every aspect of that page should engross them. The content should be compelling enough to grab their attention. And really provide value. When they stay on your page and read your insanely actionable content, that sends positive signals to Google. It tells Google, hey this was relevant to the searcher, they found what they were looking for.
This ranking it’s called well time and it’s basically from the point of time we click on a result to when you go back to search results in Google. So, how do we create readable content.
Readability in simple words is the ease and clarity visible in your content. So you want super clear content. Speak with a clear voice. Organize or structure your content in a way that it is readable. Logic and simplicity go hand-in-hand. Content creators should keep their posts logical and simple.
Just remember to make your content readable and understandable.

According to industry thought leaders, Google is intensifying its focus on the quality of content. We tracked the ranking performance of a number of different sites. Websites that had exceptional depth in content, consistently ranked higher. On the contrary, websites with shallow material were taken down and pitted at the bottom.
This trend is going to continue. For creating deeper content, right long-form words, the sweet spot here is 2,000 or more. Explore topics, have many different facets. Create ultimate guides, go further than surface level research. Don’t just Google for statistical data, plough deeper for trends.
Pull out material from an industry-leading book and actually quote from the pages in that book.
Create a hyperlink that directly leads to an in-depth study. A lot of concentrators do this, take the reader straight to that original study.

In 2020, you don’t wait for a site to load, it should happen within a couple of seconds. Studies show this is true. BBC has shown with statistical data that Shoppers don’t wait more than three seconds for a website to load, when they’re looking up online retail.
Research shows that Blog posts with images get 90% more views than posts without. If you are opting for stock photos, just make sure these are well-designed images that stand out. So make sure your blog posts have at least 2-3 great images. And you’ll see your post’s performance improve over time.
Provide facts and probably cite them. Recall the third point about ploughing deeper for your content. And I thought this point deserved its own little soapbox. Today the Internet has made it really easy for anyone to say anything without backing it up with facts. So, it’s actually a differentiation point to go straight to an original study. Pull up quotes and fascinating statistical data that you’ve cited and include these in your blog posts. The key for that is going to be deep research.
Format Online Content
Format your online content for the featured snippets. Featured snippets are getting a ton of attention in Google and this will only increase. These are boxes of information that appear in search results, when an end user types a question. In a lot of organic search results, you will see featured snippets taking the top spot. This is a hugely desirable place for your content to rank. To increase the likelihood of your content getting featured in the snippets, here are a few things to know. First, answer questions definitively in your content. Secondly, make your content the highest quality possible. Readable, well-written, full of statistics and thorough.
Use Numbered and Bulleted Lists
These lists will actually show up in the Featured snippets. We see a lot of numbered and bulleted lists in the snippets. Include statistics and data and structure your content logically. I like to use a table of contents, that tells the reader what they’re in for. Check out a WordPress plugin called ‘Table of Contents Plus’. It automatically creates a list and puts it at the top of my blog right below the introduction. Refer to the image below.
A lot of times, you will see a listical or bullet points getting published in the featured snippets.
Be the Expert
People value an expert’s opinion. Someone who has authorship in content. Your content can position you over time as an expert, if you stick with it. Reputation matters as well.
In Google’s recent update, search guidelines also evaluate the creator of that content and their history. And both relate to that page’s rankings. So, reputation evidence can include these things.
Personal experience, whether you’ve been practicing your trade for 10 years. Let’s say you own a horse ranch and frequently talk about horseback riding in the national or local media. You have done that for 10 years or you’ve written a book. You speak on your topic. What the wider web thinks about you and says online, so that’s reviews, forums, posts, ratings that type of thing.
So, the content you need to create should position yourself as an expert. An “About” page that has thorough information of your career. Your area of expertise, how good you’re at something, what have you done for your clients. How long you’ve been doing it with dates etc. You need to make sure you have bio pages, set up your blog and if you guest blog, make sure you have strong bios for your guest blogs as well.
